Lincoln Aviator 2020: Nearly Fully-Loaded
- The 2020 Lincoln Aviator is back on the market with a new design and revised engine
- Current year models have been upgraded with an improved interior and exterior.
- The new trim offers advanced security, safety and assistance features as standard.
Lincoln has relaunched Aviator in this year. The new mid-size SUV, which is the first plug-in hybrid from the manufacturer, has rear-wheel drive (RWD). This trim’s new features are a direct challenge to the luxury cars that have been available in the past.
On the official website of the automaker, there is also a tool for calculating the price of a vehicle. The MSRP can reach up to $90.000 when fully equipped. The base price for this trim is also $52,195. The company currently manufactures five trims: Aviator, Reserve Grand Touring Black Label and Grand Touring Black Label. We chose the base model as it had the most impressive equipment in the lineup.
The Trim We Love
Aviator Reserve All Wheel-Drive (AWD) is the trim we chose. It costs approximately $58,795. This trim is a midrange option that’s below Black Label. It comes with a V6 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged that produces 400 horsepower. AWD is an extra $2,510.
This car comes at a price which is comparable to the starting price of most award-winning Audi Q7 engines with six-cylinders and the Volvo XC90 Inscription, equipped with a variety of features.
The Grand Touring is still more appealing with its superior plug in hybrid engine. We haven’t looked at the gasoline-electric drivetrain yet, but based on the prices of other trims we can estimate that it will cost $70,000 or more, even without any add-ons.
Reserve AWD features desirable interiors, such as Revel speakers 14″, surround view camera, and a power tailgate. Luxury utility vehicles may not have all the features you expect. It’s better to add a few important optional packages that will enhance the luxury of your vehicle.
Add-Ons
The Reserve II package, which costs $11,625, and the Crystal Copper paint, which costs $695 are two of the best packages. The Crystal Copper color is a little more difficult to choose. The Ebony, Ebony/Roast and Sandstone upholstery colors are a perfect match. The secondary package, while a little more expensive, offers an array of options, such as adaptive LED headlights and 22″ wheels. That justify the costs.
Owners can also add a third row that folds down for no extra cost to accommodate a seventh passenger. The vehicle’s overall cost is $70,615, a reasonable amount considering its trims. We still need to find out about the driving performance of the vehicle when it hits the market. We also need to see how competitive this new Edition is in terms of price and features compared to its competitors.
Options
Standard
Editors may choose the standard version of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator, which has an MSRP price of $56,195. The base trim is equipped with a twin turbocharged six-cylinder motor that produces 400 horsepower. The vehicle also features a second row bench and is capable of towing up to 6,700 lbs. Buyers can also convert the RWD to AWD for a marginal price of $2,500. Owners can also increase the towing capability with a $500 tow package.
Diamond Blue exteriors and Sandstone interiors are available at no extra cost to vehicle owners. The Elements package costs $1000, while the Navigation package is $500. Drivers who enjoy heated steering wheels can get both with the Elements Package.
This trim includes Apple CarPlay, Waze and Sync 3 Infotainment. Due to its capabilities, a vehicle with Waze may not need a navigation system. The added features are almost as good as the $80,000 Black Label on-road trims.
Grand Touring
Grand Touring 2020 Lincoln Aviator may not have color options, but its features are sure to satisfy its users. The available color options make it look luxurious. The first variant is also available with an option of a single-wheel, but the handling package comes as standard.
Cashmere White and Chalet are two of the most cleanly designed interior color options. At its price of $88,895, the car is also quite spacious and does not require third-row seating.
Reserve
The Reserve trim, which costs $60,380, is one of the best-built vehicles by the manufacturer since the Mark VIII. This car’s sheet metal surrounding the cabin is luxurious. Reserve is the second trim and costs an extra $5100. The new model comes with features such as a surround-view cam, 20-inch wheels, Revel audio system, 14-speaker and better leather than the previous version. Its interior is available in a combination of Magnetic Gray and Roast colors.
The brown seats may also blend in with the exterior and interior shades and prevent the seats from displaying messes. The Elements package is a good option for families with children, as it only costs $1180 and provides ventilation and heating to the second-row passengers. It also includes a heated wheel for the driver. The owners can add a second-row seat at no extra cost.
With an AWD system installed for $2510, the vehicle is also near perfect for winter driving or slipping snow. The towing package is also added by most parents for an additional $500. At no more than $61,380, the Reserve is a luxurious SUV that can be used for everyday commutes.
The company offers a limited warranty of four years or 50,000 miles, and a powertrain warranty of six years or 70,000 miles. The Black Label variants also come with complimentary scheduled maintenance for four years or 50,000 miles.
The motor and battery of the plug-in Grand Touring Hybrids are also covered by a warranty for eight years or 100,000 miles. These hybrids also come with a warranty of eight years or 100,000 miles. Aviator TrimsAs standard, a vehicle will have forward-collision alerts, automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring. It will also provide lane-keeping assist. Buyers can choose to add features such as adaptive cruise control, automated parking, lane-centering, and lane-centering assist.
